No. The conversion runs inside your browser on your own device. Your files are never sent to a server, so it's safe for contracts, payslips and ID documents.
What quality setting should I use?
70% gives a big saving with little visible difference. Go lower for tiny files, higher for print.
How do I get under an upload limit?
Lower the quality and set a maximum width such as 1600 px. Width makes the biggest difference.
